I promise nothing.
But for you, I will try.
They’re nicer than ours back home over here, but about as boring. Had to start a couple of fights just to keep from dying of stagnation.Adrik Ivanov’s his name. Impressive resume.
I know him, he is brother of very good friend.
-nods, miniscule smile- Indeed.
*flings balisong up in the air and catches it with a satisfied smirk* I missed doing that.
-another miniscule smile, disappears quickly- Da, having to avoid use of powers is also aggravating.
Glad to finally be out of that shithole.
Perhaps for those who do not learn its lessons.
Oh I learned plenty. I was getting tired of the same old walls though. Change of scenery’s nice.
And I met one of you vor in there, strangely enough. You don’t see many vory v zarkone in American prisons. But he gave me a nice new dome. We’re keeping in touch.
-pause- I suppose. I do just as much business inside walls of prison as outside. Scenery is of little importance to me.

I have been reduced to watching television.
Is there no one who needs a swift end?
I am disappointed.
My God, you watching television? What has the world come to?

-Vlad takes his gift but does not begin unwrapping it. He sets it in his lap and waits for her to finish opening hers. He smiles with only his eyes at her reaction- I have bags of money for no reason. Spending on family is better than wasting money.-when she’s finished, he carefully begins unwrapping his own gift. He has some small idea of what it could be, since there is very little that would actually be practical for him-
It…It, ah, took me a while to find but I finally came across it just by chance two days ago. -Rubs the back of her neck awkwardly and looks down at the ground. She looks up at him again for a second, then focuses on the dress and tries to swallow down the disappointment in herself for not getting him something worthy of his gift -
You really are too good to me.
-Holds his present carefully in his hands, turns it over, looks it through back and forth, gives it a close sniff to smell that oh-so wonderful old book smell before putting it down on the endtable. He stands from the couch and sits next to her on the floor—also very uncharacteristic of him—leans over to her and kisses her forehead, putting a hand on her face and stroking her cheek with his thumb-
Katyusha, this is first edition printing of my favorite Tolstoy. I could not have asked for a better present—aside from spending time with you.
-he doesn’t mention it, but he notices the almost flinch. He takes the present from her and gives her the box he’s brought-I do hope you like it.
-She smiles, it’s small but it’s definitely there and it’s very genuine as she takes the present from him, muttering a quiet ‘thank you’-
Ha! Uncle, please. Outside of my blood family, you and Kashnikov are the only people who know me well enough. Of course I will like it.
-She opens the present hesitantly and carefully, recognizing the name on the box from the various dresses her mother often got her for Christmas and birthdays. She quickly looks up at him, eyebrows raised- …You really shouldn’t have, I know how expensive these are.

-Vladimir doesn’t comment on the room. For him, this is an extensive amount of decorating.- Of course I did, you are my niece -nods succinctly--at mention of Grigori and his jumper, he snorts slightly. He takes a seat and holds the box out to her. It’s almost 2 feet long and one foot wide.-
-Quirks a brow at the snort as she walks over to the tree and takes the package out from under it. She lowers herself down onto the floor, crossing her legs like she always did when she was particularly small and suppresses a flinch at the tenseness of her bad leg- Well, if you had to then it’s a good thing that I did too.
-he doesn’t mention it, but he notices the almost flinch. He takes the present from her and gives her the box he’s brought-
I do hope you like it.

-eyes widen ever so slightly at the glare. When she grins, he walks in and closes the door behind himself. He, too, has a grin—((see below))well, a grin for him—on his face, peering out from behind his hair, which has grown considerably-Of course you were. I see the dog has grown. -pause. abrupt subject change- Come, I have present for you. -starts heading towards the living room-
-Follows him, finding it hard not to maintain her normally cold nature and instead replaces it with a warmer, more upbeat nature that she hasn’t seen since her teenage years. She frowns slightly at the at the state of her living room, it’s immaculate however one small tree and several Christmas cards strewn along the fire place are the only clues to the date.-
Now, Uncle Vladimir you know didn’t have to do that. -Glances down at the jumper and then to a certain package under the tree for a brief second- This was one of many from mama, I assure you. Grigori made sure to let me know that he has already set his on fire.

-at mention of Grigori and his jumper, he snorts slightly. He takes a seat and holds the box out to her. It’s almost 2 feet long and one foot wide.-
-a knock on the door and the doorbell can be heard outside of Katya’s current place of residence-
Niku! Niku, stay! Good boy. -Looks through the peephole before opening the door a crack- …Uncle? -Opens it wider- It has certainly been a while. -Folds her arms over the unflattering woolen Christmas themed jumper with Niku remaining close by her legs-
-raises his eyebrow slightly at the jumper. He is holding a nicely decorated box behind his back, but its size makes it impossible to hide- Da, I apologize. Many things have required my…special skills. -pauses, almost uncomfortably-
May I come in?
-Narrows her good eye and almost glares before breaking out in a very uncharacteristic grin- Da, da, come in. Mind the floor, though, it’s wet. We, ah, were taking advantage of the snow.
-eyes widen ever so slightly at the glare. When she grins, he walks in and closes the door behind himself. He, too, has a grin—((see below))well, a grin for him—on his face, peering out from behind his hair, which has grown considerably-
